The first match of the Eastern Counties League 2023 campaign took place today against Cambridgeshire at St Neots BC with Suffolk taking the victory by 10 shots. There was a last minute change to the side caused by a late injury to team manager Adrian Beecroft.
Thankfully the injury isn't serious but it caused a shuffle of the side with Andrew Drummond being called up straight from the Borough of Eye tour.
Despite a late comeback by Cambridgeshire, the Suffolk men remained in control of a rain soaked game eventually running out deserved winners by a score of 123 - 133.
The next game is a home fixture against Bedfordshire at Risbygate BC on Saturday 13 May with a 10.30am start. We hope the weather is kinder for this fixture and we would encourage you to come along to watch some top quality bowling and support your County side
