Suffolk's opening game in group East B of the Middleton Cup was held last Saturday at Bramford BC against our old rivals Norfolk.
Before the start of the match, a minutes' silence was held in memory of Percy Rowe, who was himself a Middleton Cup semi-finalist in 1973
Norfolk got of to a flying start and built a lead of 20+ points. Then the tide turned and Suffolk began to pull back into the tie, cutting the Norfolk lead to 4 shots. The ebb and flow of the game again turned to favour Norfolk, taking their lead back to 22 points.. Suffolk again fought back but run out of ends, losing a hard fought match by 8 shots
Final Score: Suffolk 101 - 109 Norfolk
Points Score: Suffolk 6 - 16 Norfolk
